Gold Rush
We all know how popular white kitchens are. The photos are everywhere. Bright, uncluttered, clean - sometimes a little too clean, right? Yes, white is an amazing way to make a kitchen look more spacious, but when you add white countertops and stainless steel appliances, hardware, and plumbing fixtures, the room can begin to lose its warmth.
White on white on white isn’t for everyone. Many of our clients love white cabinets but don’t want the room to look overly modern and sterile. They want us to help them keep that warm and classic feel. We can do this by carefully choosing the accessories.
A recent client of ours chose these European bar pulls in gold because she wanted a classic and modern feel in their open kitchen. They are easy to change if she decides to go with a different look in a few years.
It’s exciting to see gold tones making a comeback! We are currently working on a whole-house remodel using lots of rich gold fixtures and accessories, from the showerheads to the kitchen faucets (you’ll have to wait for photos, sorry!) Our clients purchased an older home and wanted to preserve its heritage but also add their own modern touches. Gold and brass can easily be the bridge between classic and modern.
It’s important to remember that every company has its own unique version of what they call “gold”. This is why we like to take our clients shopping (also, we just really like shopping). You’ll be able to compare one company’s gold finish to another, and go from there. Or you may find that you’re more of a “champagne bronze” fan, and we’d definitely have no problem with that.
If you aren’t ready to commit to gold faucets, we can steer you toward elements that are less permanent. There’s no shortage of cabinet hardware and lighting options in tons of metallic finishes, and we know the best places to look. Pairing these with black matte faucets and showerheads gives you endless possibilities.
So let’s go back to white again, because there is another exciting trend going on:

We can’t imagine this look will ever go out of style, especially since you have the option to CHANGE THE COLOR OF THE KNOBS. Really! Buy your oven with black controls, and pick up a brass or copper set for when you decide to make a change.
So what do you think of this look? We promise to share photos as our project goes forward - stay tuned!
