Lost in Translation

Do you remember playing the “telephone game” as a kid? What started off as a simple statement turned into a whole different story by the time it got back to you. Now imagine a complicated home renovation design concept passing through several sets of ears! 

This common home renovation challenge inspired our first blog topic: 

Why choose a Design-Build company?  Or better yet, what IS a Design-Build company?

Let’s go way back for a moment...Many of our world’s great architectural wonders were built by Master Builders.  They weren’t simply designers, or architects, or tradesmen; any one of them could deliver on all three fronts for a seamless service.  As time went on, however, people began to specialize in certain areas of work. Tradesmen stopped collaborating. Projects became fragmented. There was less trust, less teamwork, and a loss of efficiency due to lack of communication.

The Design-Build concept aims to bring back the original model.  Vatter Construction is a unified group. Yes, we each have our own strengths, but we are each committed to the success of the team for your benefit.  Communication is sacred.  Poor communication equals big mistakes, and who is going to take responsibility?  Can you already hear the blame shifters?

Look, mistakes happen.  No project is perfect. But when you hire a Design-Build company, you are hiring an all-in-one visionary team.  We believe this is essential to a beautifully thought-out, creative, and life-lasting renovation. Our process is integrated.  You don’t have to be the go-between with designers, architects, and tradespeople. We are with you from beginning to end. We’ll help you with the floorplan.  We’ll be there as you choose your tile, flooring, counters, and lighting. We’ll know every person who comes into your home to work, and we make sure they understand each detail of the project.  In other words, WE are the point of responsibility. No excuses. No blame.
